Webinar Update
Last Saturday's session, W013, held on 3 October, was on “Eliminating the Digital Divide – A Pilot Proposal for MDBs and UN to Consider.” It proposed a demonstration pilot, run by multilateral development banks and the UN in a handful of countries, combining solar power, national AI training academies and rapid deployment of already-proven AI solutions. For developers, the rapid-deployment element is the key opportunity: proven AI products and services would be scaled quickly in pilot countries.
A video on this topic has already been uploaded to our YouTube channel @AIGrandad999.alanross and to our 10 language-specific channels (e.g. @AIGrandad999.alanross.Spanish, @AIGrandad999.alanross.Hindi, etc.), where there are now over 25 long and 12 short videos on each channel covering the AI and technology disruptions that will affect your country. The video is called “Humanity's Biggest Moonshot” and shows how the World Bank's World Development Report (WDR) could be implemented. We encourage you to view and share this and other videos with your networks and to ask them to subscribe so they are notified whenever a new video is uploaded.
Our next free webinar, W014, is on Saturday 17 October 2026 at 1pm Dublin, on the topic: “The Developing World Joined Previous Technology Revolutions Too Late – Why AI Can Be Different”. For IAAD developers and entrepreneurs, this session will look at why the developing world joined earlier technology revolutions too late, and why this time local builders can be part of the revolution from the very start rather than only consumers of imported technology. The discussion links to Alan's proposed Global AI Entrepreneurship Training Initiative (GAETI), which would get National AI Entrepreneurship Training Initiatives (NAETIs) started in each country to create the millions-strong army of AI entrepreneurs needed to fast-track economies in the Global South. With 2.2 billion unconnected and underserved people coming online soon, who will need the same products and services that connected people already enjoy, there will be numerous opportunities for AI entrepreneurs to build successful businesses.
